Emma Inch is the founder and driving force behind Brighton & Hove Beer Week, which is the biggest celebration of beer and brewing the city has ever seen. The aim of the week is to throw the spotlight on the wonderful beer and brewing scene in Brighton & Hove (and across Sussex), and to showcase the city as a fantastic beer destination.
The inaugural Brighton & Hove Beer Week took place from Friday 24 August – Sunday 2 September 2018 and involved more than thirty venues and sixty events across the ten-day period. There were tours, tap takeovers, talks, food, music and some of the more quirky events that make the Brighton & Hove beer scene so special. All the city’s breweries – Brighton Bier, Hand Brew Co., Holler, Loud Shirt and North Laine Brewhouse took part, plus a number of Sussex breweries – including Burning Sky, Harvey’s, Unbarred, Dark Star and Franklins. There were beers on the pier, a tasting on the i360 and – most importantly – world-class beer served in the beer venues that work so hard to bring it to the people of Brighton & Hove all year round.
